WHAT TO EXPECT
The Métis Women's Entrepreneur Conference is bringing together aspiring and established business owners from across Alberta. The event will focus on business success stories, lessons learned and cultural connectivity, all with an exclusive focus on Métis women.
Be a part of a series of “big picture” inspirational and informative presentations by Métis women on entrepreneurship. There are also several hands-on workshops to choose from, each highlighting an important aspect of launching and running a business, where you will gain practical know-how in a small group setting.
Throughout the two-day event we will be celebrating Métis culture with opportunities to network, share and connect with other Métis women.
HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS:
Throughout the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in 3 of the following, 75-minute long business workshops:

- How to turn art into an Income Stream
- Decolonizing your Brand
- aen voyaazh (a journey): Growing a business from one person to a collective
- Ribbon Skirt Cultural Teaching
PANEL TOPICS:
- Finding your “why”: what lights your business flame
- Cultural Connectivity: Promoting Métis heritage through successful entrepreneurship
- Entrepreneurship in Human Services: connecting with community
KEYNOTE TOPICS:
- Resiliency: the unique strengths Metis women bring to business
- Entrepreneurship, Start-ups, and Successes
- Scaling a culturally based business: From culture to self-sufficiency
TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT & CHILD CARE
Upon application approval, guests located over 100 Kilometres away from Grande Prairie will be contacted directly regarding both hotel and travel reimbursement.
