Bailey Stefan-Houle is a Euro-Metis woman with family roots in Batoche, Lestock, and Red River. Coming from a long line of Metis storytellers and musicians, she is a writer of short stories and plays, as well as the lead vocalist and keyboardist of Edmonton-based indie rock outfit Lauriers. Her most recent short story, “Ivy James Is Falling Down,” follows the bond of sisterhood and trauma experienced by Metis sisters and was published in November 2022 in MacEwan University’s The Bolo Tie Collective. Always down for a chat about 2000s indie rock or the underrated 2006 film ‘Penelope,’ Bailey is our emcee for the weekend.
