Workshop #1: 

Workplace Accommodations for Neurodivergent Employees, Kelly Bron Johnson

We all want the best from our employees and for them to feel their best. Kelly Bron Johnson from Completely Inclusive will discuss some of the strengths of neurodivergent employees and some of the common accommodations workplaces can start providing today. We also look at the legal rights of employees and what an accommodation process or policy can look like while providing equitable access to all. 

 

Workshop #2: 

 The value of human neurodiversity: Building an Inclusive Culture, Marie-Claude Leblanc

This workshop highlights best practices for fostering the inclusion of neurodivergent individuals in the workplace, such as personalized support and inclusive leadership. Participants will explore the benefits of including neurodiversity within their teams, particularly in terms of innovation, divergent thinking, and the mobilization of diverse teams, all of which contribute to improved organizational performance. The session will also present practical measures that managers and employees can take to help establish a sustainable inclusive culture.

Workshop goals:

  • Understand neurodiversity in the workplace.
  • Discover the benefits of inclusion for managers and employees.
  • Explore the best strategies for developing inclusive leadership.
  • Promote the emergence of an inclusive culture.

Kelly Bron Johnson (she/they) is an Autistic and Hard-of-Hearing self-advocate, keynote speaker, author, and founder of Completely Inclusive and the Autistic Entrepreneurs Network. As a mixed-heritage Black, non-binary person, Kelly Bron brings her intersectional identity into all her work and aims to break down the stigmas and systemic barriers that exist in society to make the path easier for others.
Kelly Bron is also a Certified Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace Advisor, a Mental Health First Aider, a Grief First Aider, a Workplace Mediator, and holds a Professional Certificate in Restorative Justice from Vermont Law and Graduate School.

Marie-Claude is a dedicated, compassionate, and passionate manager with a focus on Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility (JEDIA), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and sustainable development. She has been the CEO of Autisme sans limites - Autism Without limits for the past year. A manager for over 25 years , Marie-Claude spent over 10 years at the City of Montreal, including 4 years as the borough director in Outremont. She has served on multiple non-profit boards.
Recently, she completed her EMBA at McGill University & HEC Montréal and wrote her thesis on the inclusion of autistic individuals in the workplace. Her life's mission: To create a better, more inclusive and sustainable world.

Ian Humphreys serves as the Director of Employment Services at the Sinneave Family Foundation, drawing on his unique perspective as a neurodivergent self-advocate to offer a distinctive approach to his role. His responsibilities encompass program delivery oversight of the national EmploymentWorks program, as well as leading NEUROinclusive Workforce Solutions, a free service designed to provide customized solutions that improve businesses' neuroinclusion confidence. Beyond his professional commitments, Ian is also an active member of the City of Calgary Accessibility Advisory Committee.
