Karla Heintz, is the Manager of Children and Youth Initiatives within United Way Calgary and Area and published author on children’s health. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, and has been actively involved in health promotion, community programming and development for Western Canada for over 20 years. She has over 12 years of experience working with numerous national non-profit organizations, wearing many colorful hats, around sectoral health and wellbeing, identifying gaps and innovative solutions. As a paid public speaker at 360 events, and more than 150 published articles, and former radio health columnist, she enjoys sharing her learnings with communities.
She originates from a farm in Saskatchewan, where she has a great love of mother nature and being outdoors. In her spare time she loves being her dog with a disability, loves being active and creating edible dishes and desserts in the kitchen.
