Stephanie is an award-winning innovation leader with over 10 years of learning with and leading teams. She is a natural systems builder with experience from across dynamic organizations ranging from government to post-secondary to museums and libraries. Stephanie is a changemaker with a passion for leading and re-energizing innovation practices through inclusion, infectious enthusiasm, and building capacity for sustainable transformation.
Ask her about fighting against the failed “War on Drugs” policies at an information NGO in Bolivia, working for Nelson Mandela in South Africa, taking a systems approach to understanding the impact of inner city rec centre closures in Calgary, or fostering civic engagement and empathy among patrons in Central Library. For five years, Stephanie led the practice of The Innovation Lab, an internal consultancy at The City of Calgary, with a team that helped business units tackle complex challenges with systems and design thinking approaches. Currently, Stephanie is the Senior Manager, Service Design Strategy at Calgary Public Library where she leads exceptional teams with diverse expertise who are creating the future of the Library.
Her latest special interest is the craft of leading teams in complexity. Stephanie is a white, settler in Treaty 7 territory, a neurodivergent human, a partner, a mother of a multi-racial child, and a wanderer who has lived in six countries and visited 30+.
