Winnie Chow-Horn, brings over two decades of experience working in the ‘third space’ between various systems and the Non-profit sector to generate change to complex social issues. Winnie's career spans various leadership roles as an educator, director, researcher, community builder, and evaluator. As the co-founder and former Executive Director of two impactful charitable organizations, the Multicultural Family Resource Society in Edmonton and Anti-Dote: A Network for Racialized and Indigenous Girls and Women in Victoria, Winnie has demonstrated her commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable environments. Her passion for learning and community led research merged through research roles at the University of Alberta and the University of Victoria; co-creating with community on topics ranging from racialized and Indigenous youth identity and belonging, Indigenous maternal health, Metis Settlement youth life skills, cultural validity of early childhood development assessments, and immigrant and refugee health and wellbeing.

Currently, Winnie puts her extensive experience in community engagement, strategic planning, not-for-profit governance, and trauma-informed practice in her role within the Community Development Unit of the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Status of Women.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Winnie's passions include hiking challenging trails, exploring less-traveled destinations, and indulging in the quest for the best ice cream with her family and her four-legged office companion, Aspen.
