Roisin Dillon graduated from the nursing program at Mount Royal University in 2017 and competed in and won the global final for Map the System in 2018 for her research on the opioid crisis. Following Map the System, Roisin continued with this work, travelling to Portugal to take part in the International Harm Reduction conference and influencing policy development in Canada. Roisin completed a Masters in Medical Policy and a Masters Medical Ethics and Law and works in policy at a healthcare professional regulator working in partnership the UK Civil Service to reform the legislation underpinning healthcare professional regulation across the UK. Since winning Map the System, Roisin has also completed a PGCert at the University of Oxford in Patient Safety which included quality improvement and systems analysis courses and where she has further strengthened her systems-lens. Roisin is using this system lens to undertake her DPhil at Oxford on managing risk in urgent primary care.
