Daniel Major

Daniel was born and raised in Mohkinstis (Calgary) on Treaty 7 territory. He graduated from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Science in 2021, and was a recipient of MRU’s Centennial Gold Medal for leadership and academic excellence. During his time at MRU, Daniel was a mental health advocate and continues to serve on a national committee that designed the Standard for Mental Health and Wellbeing for Post-secondary Students. He was also a member of the changemaking Catamount Fellowship with the Institute for Community Prosperity. He is currently a senior medical student at the University of Alberta living and learning in Sylvan Lake and Red Deer, and has spent considerable co-curricular time learning about and advocating for the ongoing drug poisoning crisis. Daniel is a budding changemaker who aspires to contribute toward creative disruption and systems-level change within our stressed and strained healthcare system.
