Renée MacKillop has a background in sustainable agriculture, and studied food security in Cuba, Oakland, and on Vancouver Island. She led the municipal food strategy for Calgary before opening The Alex Community Food Centre. More recently, Renée worked with a social enterprise, operating mobile food markets in low-income neighbourhoods. She now leads a regional strategy for advocating for public policy to address food insecurity and poverty in Canada.
