Description

This hands-on workshop is for anyone: educators, practitioners, or students who want practical, actionable tools for facilitating learning around systems thinking and international collaboration in virtual or in-person settings. Drawing on insights from a five-year collaboration among polytechnic institutions—Otago Polytechnic (New Zealand), Humber Polytechnic and Georgian College (Canada), and VIA University College (Denmark)— and from the Waters Center for Systems Thinking, we will demonstrate ways that we have learned and taught systems thinking to build connection, collaboration, and collective action to address complex challenges.

In this session, participants will:

- Learn practical techniques and tools for teaching systems thinking effectively, tailored to diverse learning contexts.

- Explore strategies for making systems thinking accessible and engaging while creating transformative learning experiences.

- Gain actionable skills for fostering international collaboration, leadership, and community-building, all grounded in shared goals and diverse perspectives.

Join us to discover a “bag of tricks” for bringing systems thinking to life and empowering global collaboration.
